$1,281. Students who do not receive parental support owe $1,478,
whereas individuals who do receive parental support are in debt

Grants
When it comes to grants, students receiving grants owe $1,539 and
students who do not receive grants owe $1,268. A major reason why
students who receive grants owe more than those who do not is that

the rest of the grant is basically free money. The remaining grant
should be used towards books and such, but students charge purchases
to their credit cards freely, knowing that they can use their grant
to pay off the balance. Students should not spend their grant money
so profusely on non-related school items as they will dig themselves
deeper into debt.

Lastly, students who are awarded a scholarship owe $2,000 whereas
$1,298 is owed by those who do not have a scholarship.
